For two years now life has alluded me from seeing the 765 roll around Horseshoe Curve.

I lived in Cumberland Maryland in the late 80's and early 90's and did a lot railfanning in the area.

Places like SandPatch; Oakland, Md and 17 mile grade; Cass Scenic Railroad; B&O RR Museum; Strasburg: home the $5 PB&J sandwich and opening of Steamtown.

I spent a fair amount of time at Horseshoe Curve, but never witnessed any steam there.

This year, I've spent lots $$$ and time to be apart of the Bicentennial of the Battle of Lake Erie at Put-in-Bay, Ohio.

I am a member of The Perry Group and plan to be a part of the reenactment/celebration this fall.

While Put-in-Bay, the Bass Islands and Ohio's Northern Coast will always be my favorite places to visit, in 2014 I need to spend my time, funds and energy in a different direction. (per the wife)

What are the chances of the NKP 765 roll around Horseshoe Curve in 2014?

Kinda a good thing bad thing news.  I am so happy I got to ride on the Sat trip. But would love the chance to chase it on the curve too.

But riding through the curve was one thing I had wanted to do for many years....and now I have. So I now have Raton Pass, Cajon pass and the Curve....most of my list to ride rails over! Thanks to ALL involved....way too many to list.
