Hi all.  I was lucky enough this weekend not only to see the 765 on Horseshoe Curve, but to ride behind it shooting video for an upcoming documentary that the FWRHS will release in the future that features the excursions on Norfolk Southern.  I was on the train on Saturday and we shot video from the ground on Sunday.  Here are two short samples of what it was like.  Special thanks to MartyE for helping out with shooting video as well.  Make sure to watch in HD and turn up the sound !

All of this plus a whole lot more can be seen in an upcoming documentary that the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society ( http://www.765.org ) will be releasing that follows  NKP 765 on her journey over Norfolk Southern and the 21st Century Steam Program.

Excellent videos!  We rode the Saturday trip in MRLX 9407, the dome car just ahead of Dover Harbor at the end of the train.  While I will agree that you really can't get good photos and video of the engine while riding, it is the paying passengers that make these trips possible.

After riding the Saturday trip, we then used Sunday to stand trackside and shoot some video of the train.

I was very impressed with the planning and execution that went into this event.  FWRHS and NS deserve a real tip of the hat for making this kind of thing possible.  My son, my sister and I had a great time on the Saturday trip and I'd do it all over again in a New York minute!

Curt
