I know members here are far more likely to belong to clubs like TCA, LCCA and LOTS, but is anyone else in the NMRA? If so, are you going to Grand Rapids next week?
I get a little lonely hanging out with all those 2 railers.

The Independent Hi-Railers, Mid-West Division will attend, with a good sized modular layout.
As a part of the National Train Show? If so, I'll look for you a week from Friday.
Well, don't look for me personally, as I have to attend the Union Pacific Historical Society annual convention in North Platte, Neb, that same weekend.
Fair enough, at least you're doing something train related. Thanks for the heads up, I'll make sure not to miss them. Have fun.
We're always on the layout tour when the regionals are in our area. I'll probably go to the next one in the area.
Looks like national was there in 2008, so it could be a while before they get back around. 2015 in Portland is as close as they get.
I haven't been to California in quite a while. I'll probably make it there before they do.
Looking forward to meeting you guys. I'll be there right at 10:00 when the doors open for the conventioneers, before the general public gets in. Shouldn't be too hard to find a layout that large.
I will be at the NTS with the small Free-mo display that will be in a 80 x 90 foot "L" shaped area, I will also be doing a clinc on the free-mo modular standard on Thursday and Saturday from 1 to 2
Thursday I'm going to be out at White Creek, and heading home Friday afternoon. I'll look for you Friday morning if you're going to be with the group.
Being that I am one of the run chiefs I will be their at the display. A couple of my friends will be at white creek. I hope I get time to check out that railroad
Sounds good Mike. I've seen pics and the track plan for White Creek. It is crazy big! Do whatever you can to catch it.
The wife and I are heading out Friday morning, driving to Green Bay. Saturday we're taking the ferry, and will be at the convention for the start Sunday. Clinics and layout tours all week. I'll follow this topic from the road, in case any more folks come out of the woodwork.
That was a lot of fun! Attended a few clinics, and visited a bunch of great layouts, including many 3 rail O. One guy was even using car cards for operation.
I wish I had left more time Friday for the National Train Show. It was great meeting Mike, Jerry and Jim.
Time to start figuring out that JMRI stuff.

Elliot:
It was great to meet you and your wife at the convention, and place a face to a person that I had a lot of great conversations with on the MR forum. Your layout was the talk of the group, to sum up the general thoughts, "WOW"! So much thought went into your planning, great construction, and it will be a great layout to operate on.
Thanks for stopping by to say Hello. I hope you enjoyed your time at the convention, I know we all did.
BTW, here is my favorite pic from the weekend. The two boys are twins that my twin daughters had running our train on Saturday afternoon. The boy's dad said it made their weekend. Well, it made our weekend too............................
Oh how I'm going to miss them going off to university.
Regards,
GNNPNUT
gnnpnut, I enjoyed your photo bucket and u tube. Thanks for posting the link.
It was great meeting you Elliot, cant wait to see your layout sometime down the road.
GNNPNUT, Thanks. I'm really glad you enjoyed the pics. Conversations like that help to get me excited and motivated about trains again.
It's nice to see kids interested in our hobby.
Mike, just let me know when you're coming up this way. Visitors are always welcome, as long as they don't mind a bit of a mess.
We just booked hotels for Wheaton in October and Trainfest in November. I need another chance to really look at and enjoy the layouts.
At train fest I will be with the Lionel Club I belong to (lionel RR Club of SE Wisconsin) I usually bring my 1938 Lionel OO Layout. I also usually will run my Kitbashed Milwaukee Road SDL39 on the 3-rail ogauge Layout we have their also.
but is anyone else in the NMRA?
Uh, ya. I am.

Looking forward to seeing you there. This time we have all day both days to soak up all the details, as opposed to two and a half hours in Grand Rapids. I didn't know Lionel had OO that early.

I'm a Life Member, but haven't been able to attend one of the national conventions for a few years due to the magazine's publishing schedule.

Hi David. Finding 3 railers in the NMRA is a bit of a challenge. Did you make it to the convention?
