I am sure I am not the first to buy and engine that does not fit in with "the rest" because of no other reason than it just looks cool. I had to order a BNSF ES44AC unit to match the previous one that I had taken possession of that lost its brother to a mix-up. While Iwas at it I could not resist the KCS in gray ES44. It just has a cool "no nonsense" look to it. I try and curb (recently) my spending on locomotives by sticking with UP, BNSF, C&NW and Milwaukee Road. Like I said, no justification...
I'm sure I could find pictures of KCS units mixed in with UP or BNSF out there on the googles if I tried.
