I posted this on the electrical forum but I probably should have posted it here. I have 2 TIUs rev L that have been working fine . Due to expansion I had to disconnect then reconnect all of my wires to the TIU’s. The one TIU is now dead. The second one works fine. I am using radio shack wall warts as a external power source . I swapped out the wall warts and the TIU still doesn’t have power so its not the wall wart. Even with the lionel power bricks on i still do not get the red light or the flashing light to come on. The only thing that I can think that I may have done is reverse the polarity coming from the wall wart and shorted something out . Any advise on how to proceed?

Not sure about the rev L but some TIUs have internal fuses. You could take a look at those. On mine they take 20 amp fastblow mini automotive blade fuses.
All the TIU's have internal fuses except the original Rev. G. Rev. L most certainly have fuses, and they can blow before a lower rated thermal circuit breaker trips.
I didn’t realize the aux power input was on a fuse. Does it share the Fixed 1 fuse? I hope its that easy.
I honestly can't say if FIXED #1 fuse being out would affect AUX power, never hit that situation.

I didn't realize you were using the aux power port. I don't know if it has a fuse or if it shares one.
Try disconnecting the Aux power and connect a transformer output to Fixed #1 and see if the TIU comes on ?
I did try the 180 brick to the fixed 1 input and the TIU did not come on. This afternoon ill take the TIU apart and ck the fixed1 fuse. I have blown and replaced these fuses before , probably just not to fixed 1 . Ill post the results.
I just finished working on the TIU. The fuse itself was not blown. I checked the spades On the fuse with a meter for continuity . It was ok but the spades themselves at some black on them . I would assume that was from oxidation. I did put a new fuse in the fixed 1 channel and it now works.
Thank you for all of the replys.
