I just open a new Lionchief plus B&O Pacific. I took the time to read the instruction book and have it hooked up to an 18volt power supply.
Everything seems to be working very well except the smoke. The switch is on for smoke, I put in a few drops of fluid and ran it at a good
clip around the track with no sign of smoke. Has anyone else had this problem? Any good advice is welcome. Thanks.

My LC+ Mikado smoke fan died. My fault since I overfilled it. The heater works and smoke will eventually waft out of the sides but no puff. I'll send it in eventually.
Make sure you didn't overfill it. Doing so quickly killed mine, accidentally of course.
Gramps, for a new engine my experience is you need much more than four drops just to wet the new wick much less get some smoke. I'll let others with this engine chime in but I would put at least 15-20 drops in a new engine, let it sit and soak for five minutes, then fire it up.

Don't forget to blow down into the stack, sometimes an air bubble will form in there.
