It and all the other MTH Nohabs were cancelled;  that MTH page you referenced is in error.  As I recall, the project was cancelled pretty early in its life, so I don't think any tooling was started;  it may not have even proceeded to the design stage.

A "better" [ yes, that depends on the points of view ] model was available from Heljan in 0 scale, but 2R only of course, so that probably doomed the Euro market for an MTH one.  An even better model is now available from NMJ, again 2R only ex-works.

Given that full carbody, it should be possible to find a basket-case Heljan and convert it to 3R if you could find 3R truck blocks with a suitable wheelbase -- if one really NEEDS a 3R version, or even if you didn't, just for 'fun'.........

Best regards, SZ

Hi Steinzeit,

thanks for your kind reply! Yes, I know the Heljan Nohab, it's looking good indeed.

Actually for many classic tinplaters (like me too) full scale models are a way big, but for Hungarians, regardless of the size, this would have been a very cool model, considering the cult status of the Nohabs in Hungary, both the MÀV real ones and the MÀV models.

Kind regards,

Sandor
