A quick look at the big auction site, you've got your pick ~ $65.
Only if it sounds like this...

Are there digital sound replacement units available for Noma Stations?
Yes, but two problems. I can't find the darn link and I can not be sure the provider is still in business. I believe there were two. He has original recordings taken from the wax drums. They didn't last long.
If you search Noma Talking Station on the forum, there was a detailed thread on a rebuild with the vendors name and a video. 2013, perhaps.
edit: here is one thread with the person that does the sound modules: Noma/Mystic
Not sure if this is the same guy Moonman has referenced but I'm getting a Cucamonga module from this guy. I think he's the same one who advertises modules for sale in the TCA.

I do not know, have heard of, any wax drums for the recordings. My Noma station
has records to use for the sounds, my Edison Recorder has wax drums, but is around
45 years prior to the Noma station. As for needed parts, I have purchased other used stations for items I was looking for, plus, I have a couple "extra" stations to repaint or
kitbash if I should decide to, later. The next one to acquire will be the station with a green roof version.

I bought one that has the new sound system for my dad. When it arrived I played it for him and he cried because he had not heard the recording since he was A kid some 65 years ago. Choo Choo Kenny
You might try Marx and American Flyer searches too. The last I saw there was one company making boards for each recording! About 6 or 8 choices if I remember right.
I was searching for AF parts when I found them before.
E-bay?
John Festa at johnretired@yahoo was one contact address I found.
This information is from 2010, so I don't know if he is still in business, but he was supplying solid state equipment for the Noma stations:

He's definitely in business as the eBay listing link above is active. Since OGR might delete the link (direct eBay links are subject to deletion) search eBay for "Noma talking station sound unit" and it will take you to his listing.
From the listing, here are the options $40 plus $7 shipping. Also customized station announcements are available.

I think the one I posted was from 2013.
There is another actual website that had them too though.
There are MP3 recordings that are easy to find.

Right. If you can actually find/download the MP3 recordings as also suggested in this thread:
https://ogrforum.com/t...noma-talking-station
then there a many low-cost, no-moving-parts options for MP3 playback. If you don't mind DIY assembly/wiring, you can put together an MP3 player for less than $10.
You can buy the board form Port Lines Hobbies, they have all the options. I installed one and took the batteries out to run on some AA's. Careful, you can break the board. I broke one and Im pretty handy with that stuff. The guy who makes em though is super cool and will send yo a new one.

Texastrain,
So, is that record a vinyl record? I was under the impression that it was more fragile and wore easily.
I notice the A.C. Gilbert mystic station has a larger record. perhaps that in a pre-war version?
Here is an EBay lot for a Noma station record.
And here is another.

Go to jlmtrains.com.
He sells units that are digital and crystal clear.

Joe's drop in replacement is first rate. I purchased it when it first came out, so great to hear the train announcement once again.

I have one of these with the same issue as everyone else, no electronics. I'm going to put the BY8001-16P MP3 player into it, it has plenty of volume and five input pins to play up to five selections.
I will add a rotary selector switch to be able to select which of five sound clips to play, then use the cupola button to trigger whichever one is selected by the switch.

I believe the wear was more about the needle type, and arm weight resting on the vinyl than the vinyl itself. High rpm's there would be more centrifugal forces too, but I don't know the rpm rates
thank you for all the info/comments and the 2 sources for new recordings. I just received a beautiful station from a fellow TCA member with a working mechanism and the PRR sounds. I will try it out tonight.
I think I may also purchase one of the new sound boards with different recordings for use in another station.
I've been thinking about getting one of these, unfortunately I like rare/expensive things and want the green-roofed version. I think it looks a bit better.
There's an eBay seller that restores these and posts them, might go through him eventually.
I know what you mean..I'd love to have a green one. might start looking after the holidays.
