Yes, but two problems. I can't find the darn link and I can not be sure the provider is still in business. I believe there were two. He has original recordings taken from the wax drums. They didn't last long.

If you search Noma Talking Station on the forum, there was a detailed thread on a rebuild with the vendors name and a video. 2013, perhaps.

edit: here is one thread with the person that does the sound modules: Noma/Mystic

I do not know, have heard of, any wax drums for the recordings.  My Noma station

has records to use for the sounds, my Edison Recorder has wax drums, but is around

45 years prior to the Noma station.  As for needed parts, I have purchased other used stations for items I was looking for, plus, I have a couple "extra" stations to repaint or

kitbash if I should decide to, later.  The next one to acquire will be the station with a green roof version.

He's definitely in business as the eBay listing link above is active.  Since OGR might delete the link (direct eBay links are subject to deletion) search eBay for "Noma talking station sound unit" and it will take you to his listing.

From the listing, here are the options $40 plus $7 shipping.  Also customized station announcements are available.

Right.  If you can actually find/download the MP3 recordings as also suggested in this thread:

then there a many low-cost, no-moving-parts options for MP3 playback.  If you don't mind DIY assembly/wiring, you can put together an MP3 player for less than $10.

You can buy the board form Port Lines Hobbies, they have all the options. I installed one and took the batteries out to run on some AA's. Careful, you can break the board. I broke one and Im pretty handy with that stuff. The guy who makes em though is super cool and will send yo a new one.

Texastrain,

So, is that record a vinyl record? I was under the impression that it was more fragile and wore easily.

I notice the A.C. Gilbert mystic station has a larger record. perhaps that in a pre-war version?

I have one of these with the same issue as everyone else, no electronics.  I'm going to put the BY8001-16P MP3 player into it, it has plenty of volume and five input pins to play up to five selections.

I will add a rotary selector switch to be able to select which of five sound clips to play, then use the cupola button to trigger whichever one is selected by the switch.
