I purchased these from Amazon for a blue comet 400E I purchased that did not have the wrappings inside the box:
Zflow Microfiber Glass Cleaning Cloths - 8 Pack (16 x 16) - Streak Free - Lint Free - Quickly Clean Windows, Windshields, Mirrors, and Stainless Steel https://a.co/d/gHJmWEo
They are very similar to the shipping material and a bit smaller, but do the job well. Hope this helps!

Are they thicker than the factory packing?
They are about the same thickness. I can overlap a train with two of these and the train still fits in the shipping container. It is the closest I have found to the original shipping material.
