Thanks to Ronald Hofmann here on the OGR forum, I today received my Norfolk Southern 30th Anniversary Heritage Pin Set, and a couple of sets of Southern buttons. The 20 pins are beautifully presented, I managed to get them from the NC Transportation Museum, where a very helpful young lady by the name of Leah Cook made the arrangements for me. I gather they don't get many phone calls from Australia. I'm not normally into collecting this sort of railwayana, but these are brilliant and I'm so pleased I was able to get them.

All my favorite fallen flags are included in that wonderful set.
Thank you for podting the photo.
Norfolk Southern has an online store where you can purchase the pins and many other collectibles:
That is great news Dave, both that you got the set of pins and that you had a bit of help from other train guys. I know it can be difficult doing long distance collecting. Enjoy the pins.

LCCA members that took the NORFOLK SOUTHERN TRAIN RIDE at the convention on Monday 23rd received a free set from The NS folks at the end of the ride. That was over 200 sets.
It was a complete surprise to everyone.

Yep, a great train trip with a first class crew. The tour of the NS coal piers before the train trip was another terrific bonus.
Hi Dave, sure am glad this worked out. After talking to Leah about this I knew she would do her best to get a set out to you.
Yes thanks Ron, she was very nice to deal with, thanks for the help, the pins are really great. I will try to visit the NC Museum when I'm over in October.
Well Dave your post and photo of the pin set drove me over the edge! I just ordered one and a poster of all the heritage engines around the round house. I don't collect much like this either but it did catch my eye when I first saw it come out.
Well Chris, I need to get a jacket now for my Southern Railway buttons. You'll be pleased with the pins, they'll look great in your train room.
