A thread on the AltoonaWorks site announced that NS is going to rebuild the SD70 DC engines to AC. 80 units. Will be interesting to watch.

NS is innovative to say the least. Can't wait to see how they come out.
These rebuild projects create a lot of responses with people asking questions etc. They are speculating on what cab they will get. the kit bashers will have something to work on with the ACu's, the GE DC to AC's and now SD DC to AC. Give train spotters something to do.
I can't keep up with this stuff!
But I like it! I hope to see what they look like when they're rebuilt. I really enjoy modern diesels as I'm a rail fan only.
I would like to build copies of some of the rebuilds over the recent years

I follow NS rebuilds and co. operations as well. Impressive operation. Hey joe..got two Railking SD70 shells that need admiral cabs and the radiators flares flattened..are you in business yet?
