living in Europe, Scandinavia, Sweden and having watched a number of excellent videos of US steam I want to share this with You.
Background, during WW2 a number of steam engines were put into top secrect strategic reserve in Sweden. Our hydrelectric power was like to be knocked out if we were atacked.
Some 50+ years later a number of these engines came out of hiding.
A german TV team made a video of the restoration and the spectacular inaugural trip on the national main line.
Two parallell tracks were reserved during 90 minutes for this steam jubilee!!
The video is an excercise in Swedish and German, but you can just enjoy the scenery.
