About Angela Trotta Thomas

Angela is the only artist ever to be licensed by the famed toy train manufacturer Lionel Trains / Lionel LLC and has held that honor for the past twenty-two years. Her work, which has been featured on covers of numerous national magazines and Lionel catalog covers and has been exhibited in the Smithsonian and Everhart museums. Her paintings have earned her the title of “The Train Lady”. Angela created the cover for the Centennial Catalog for Lionel LLC marking the first illustrated catalog cover since 1969. Since then her work has been featured, annually, on a holiday boxcar. Again this year Angela has been selected to paint Lionel’s Christmas Catalog.

Many of her paintings hang in both private and corporate collections to include Richard and Linda Kughn- former owner of Lionel LLC. Lionel LLC, Neil Young, Otis Chandler-owner of the LA Times, MBNA Bank, Quest Health Care, Chrysler and Arrow Fastener Corporation.

The lynch pin of Angela’s art is her ability to bring emotion into her work. Her paintings allow the viewer to experience warmth, relive a fond memory or create a bond with the painting. Angela believes a successful painting must evoke emotion. This is where she derives her greatest satisfaction.
