Wow...now the MTH web has updated the arrival of the #7 and #6 to December 2012 almost two years since announcing them. Are they really building them?

I saw the #7 on display at York yesterday. Can't be long now, and from what I saw, worth the wait.
James, when you saw the #7, was it a conventional? I was wondering what kind of motor and reversing unit the conventional version has.
The #6&7 where there Mike Wolf said it would be about week's before they would be here they were not running .
Guy
It would be 6 week's
Is the motor in the conventional going to be a bild-a-loco motor or a copy of the original style?

Sorry I didn't notice which type was on display. The catalog does say Bild-a-Loco motor for the traditional.
The color on the boiler on the #6 is completely different than the catalog image as well.
If you were expecting that beautiful blue - in reality the boiler will be nearly black.
This would be closer to the original version produced by Lionel, but no where near the catalog. Just FYI.
Anyone have pictures of it

Are they made of brass like the original?

This is not the MTH model. It is a picture of an original Lionel #7. Note that the cab and tender are nickel. While I did not/could not photograph the MTH model in the Orange Hall at York, I got a good look at it. The MTH version is all brass colored, no nickel. When asked about it, Mike Wolf insisted that the MTH version is correct. I think Mr Wolf is incorrect. There are two varients being offered by MTH; conventional and command control.
