Now is the time to create the US Space Force Train Set. A Smoking Cryogenic Boxcar, Missile cars for asteroid defense. This could be much better than an Area 51 set.

Well Lionel was ahead of the US government. In 1960s Lionel made over a dozen Space, rocket and missile cars and engines with the Lionel name all over them.
You can drop their value and rename them for the new United States Space Force, Department of the Air Force if you want to "up date" them. I am sure Lionel and others will come out with re-labeled cars and engines for the new Space Force.

In my opinion, the Marines #45 missile launch car from the TMCC set is the most powerful attack vehicle in the whole Lionel arsenal. Four missiles able to be launched rapid fire fairly accurately with a Cab1. After nailing the cat a few times, all it took was the announcement, ‘Scanning for targets!’ , and zoom!, it was up the stairs, and never came on the layout again. Very effective weapon. Deadly on exploding boxcars as well. No animals were harmed. Just had the crap scared out of it. A couple broad side hits from the mean green Marine machine #45 could flat out change a feline’s attitude as to what an opportune resting spot is I guess. I was just glad they were on my side.

Marx did a pretty good job 60+ years ago with its many space sets/train sets, like the Cape Canaveral crossovers.
MPC had its L.A.S.E.R. set.
I do not plan on buying that, because they are trying to get out of even using AMTRAK trains by hiring former Airline Executives with their drastic business downturn plan that is even worse than "Precision Scheduled Railroading".

Someone should be able to offer a Space Force boxcar within 6 months, or so.
A Space Force themed set might take at least a year, or two.
Calling on Menards to rise to the occasion for a boxcar or flatcar with vehicle or space related object.

Believe it or not, there was a debate about it years ago in the NMRA Bulletin. I don't recall the details, but yes, a helium transport car weighs more loaded than empty. When helium is compressed, it loses its buoyancy.
After all, helium (or hydrogen) isn't upsidaisium.

Plagiarism's probably a bit strong.
Almost every emblem/patch for such things will be round (with text around the perimeter), so the circular part is not unique by any means.
The globe does not exist on the Star Trek one.
It's a triangular shape, no hole with a pattern in the middle, etc.
Almost any space mission patch or emblem/logo is going to have the arc representing something moving, so that's not unique either. Ditto for the stars, which while present, it's not like they are identical in design or pattern.
But back to topic, yes, hopefully it starts making it's way in with the other services when offered on boxcars, etc.

Pretty sure you'd need a LOT of helium to lift a tank or train car. The tank at the balloon store doesn't float up off the ground without being bolted to the floor either.

I pulled this off Wikipedia. Air Force Space Command goes back a few decades. Of course Star Trek also used a stylized arrow/rocket ship kinda emblem. It's not always sinister 
We will do well to remember that.

Star trek isn't the only source of this plagiarism!! Lego has been using this symbol since the 80's. And just so that this on topic I have built both space ships and trains from Lego, including trains that run on 3 rail track. I can't wait until we see new space force patrol vehicles to add to our layouts!

Maybe Lionel will do a meaningful update of the Phantom (like pulling power) add six or so new space related tech cars with a couple of add on cars. It looks like a $1500 price tag to me.
Everybody should have one. It would look great zipping around the Christmas tree.
