This is not my video, but happened to come across this on youtube. Cool to see, but I would not want to be the person filming. But one thing I noticed, that have to keep that horn blowing in order so it does get clogged.

Love this, thanks for posting!
Neat video.
At what point is it too much snow that they can't just plow through it?
Ah the winter, can't wait! Doesn't look like we'll be getting much snow though

When they stall.
SP's snowbound "City of San Francisco"at Yuba Pass, January 13-19, 1952 is a example.

(I can never get the insert link to work, must be an operator issue)
Seeing that made me think of the CP "Holiday" train, turns out, it already came and left Illinois.
Tom Jr,
Way cool video!

It's not uncommon for steep snow banks to lift the uncoupling leaver and deep snow can also lift hose air hoses causing them to disconnect putting the train into emergency. Frozen ice can derail a engine pretty quickly however on a busy mail line it's not likely. (snowmobile crossing,, road crossing) Snow banks at crossings can lead to a rough ride in the caboose with the slack action, ...
Good morning Tom, it's surprising that with the amount of snow the head engine is pushing before the engine hit the packed snow at the grade crossing that the front truck did not want to ride up over the snow and come off the rail.
Dry fluffy snow I guess.
I was also surprise the train seems to be traveling at speed with petroleum cars in it's consist.
Be a heck of a ride !!!!!!!!!!!
Very interesting to watch, but as said I would not want to be the one shooting that video. Ya just never know what could be in that snow and could go flying right at you.

I doubt that.
