A few years back, Chacksfield Orchestra made their version of Santa Fe and by far, outside of Judy Garland's version, this comes in 2nd place for me. Wouldn't you agree?

I vote for the Johnny Mercer version. The Chacksfield version sounds like elevator Muzak.
My parents had the Johnny Mercer version. I used to listen to it as kid. It probably helped me become a lifelong rail nut. Still have the record BTW, but no turntable that will handle a 78.
