I usually don't get see any Heritage engines on the short line that runs through Woodbury. Here's a couple of photos and a movie. They were warming it up after sitting through some days in the teens. It's about a 1/2 to 3/4 mile siding. They may have doing the brake tests as I saw no crew members. The engine still sounded like a cold idle.

Very very nice. Yes, 8103 has been running back and forth on this 60N & 61N steel train between NJ and Sharon PA for the past weeks. Nice though it keeps leading. Very good catch you got. Here's the tracking of 8103 and you'll see how much he's been going back and forth - https://www.heritageunits.com/...motive/Detail/NS8103
Nice shots Moonman.
Tom Jr.,
Thanks. I was hoping you would see the post. I enjoy your Heritage spotting posts. Last year they built the siding between Westville and Woodbury. The traffic picked up and it seems to be a better way to manage it.
The Paulsboro sightings are the for the refinery run. Brandy new tank cars with all the nice conspicuity stickers.
They handle chemical supplies to the trash to steam energy plants in Westville and Carneys Point and I assume the one in Camden.
What I cannot figure out is the customer of the long gondolas. Early last year they were all beat up oldies. Once in a while some coil cars with covers. Now, it is all brandy new looking cars, like on this train. These were empties. I never seem to catch the full cars going North towards Camden.
Many of the industries moved from along the Delaware River further south or closed.
Another interesting occurrence is good horn blasts. The run from Camden to Paulsboro has way too many grade crossings that can't be closed. Woodbury has about 6 or 7 in a short distance. They haven't applied for a quiet zone, so the horns put on a good show, except for those that live nearby . Some engineers are nice and use modulated blasts in the evening or like 5am. Others, just let it rip. I am far enough away that they are gentle, but can the horns can be identified as the prevailing winds blow west to east and carry it.
Sorry about the shaky video. It was about 18° and I hopped out of the car to get some photos. Did you notice the NS Dirt Test written on the fuel tank? I appreciated that as they shouldn't disrespect the heritage units.

Thanks, Dave. iPhone X. It was too cold to go to the crossing and get the other side.
Very nice shots Mooman
I noticed the old gondola cars in Westville last year too. I live across from the old reading seashore line in Collingswood. I have taken notice to older traffic on both lines.
Hey Tom Jr....
would like to hear/see any info on this reading seashore line if you know of any, it was the rival line to the PRR line back in the day, which is now PATCO high speed line and Gamblers express from Philly to AC.
Thanks again for all the info and photos, love it!
