I would guess he's talking about the old Nickel Plate line... Not much traffic on the old Pennsy line. Personally I don't see a drop in traffic going through Fort Wayne. They would probably run more trains if they had the crews.

 On a side note, I did overhear some people talking the other day stating they wouldn't be surprised to see a head-on collision in the area of Knox IN... no idea who they were but they seemed to know something was up.

Traffic on the NKP, at least west of Fort Wayne, dropped quite a bit after the Conrail merger, but has slowly crawled back closer to mid-ninties levels due to an overall increase in business, the connector track put in at Claypool, and the ethenol plant there have all contributed to more traffic. In my opinion, there is room for more trains, but they would probably have to reach into the NKP playbook to do it, and that also assumes you can get the trains in and out of Chicago, which probably assumes too much.
