Beautiful engine.

It doesn't look correct. Shouldn't the areas of light gray be closer to white?

Wow! Very nice scheme!
Really sharp!
Beautiful unit. This is the one I was waiting for. Well done, NS!

I'm not totally up on this, but some units were delivered in "aluminum."
After a quick search, I dug up this E8 builder's photo. The bib looks silver, but the flank looks white. Go figure...
Still, looks like another winner from NS!

STUNNING!!!!!!!!!! I think the colors are right on.....the only thing that looks incorrect is the flag on the engineer's side, the flag pole in the logo would have always been on the left of the flag...but I can live with it
The Wabash flags just reminded me of something.
Years ago, the late Bob Whelove of St. Louis built a gorgeous 0-Scale Wabash Hudson for which the late Bill Clouser of St. Louis made the decals, including the flags.
Does anyone know where that engine is today, and if they do would they mind providing photos? I saw the thing forty-odd years ago and it was, indeed, a prize-winner.

Oh???
U-P-D-A-T-E:
It appears the Train Masters were the only locomotives to have the flag this way. Looking through my books, the flag was set with the flagpole trailing as Form D mentioned.
And as far as silver vs. white, Wabash had F-Units both ways. I'm not sure if it depended on when ordered of if built by EMD vs. GMD.

I'd say all things considered it is not bad looking at all. I like it.

The NS heritage units referenced the original EMD styling & painting drawings for correct paint color Dupont part numbers, for units delivered from EMD.
This unit may be in St. Louis for "special duty" when we go there with the 765 in September.
Awesome. I love the Wabash colors. On my triple lashup/MU of Lionel Geeps the flagpole is forward on 1 side and backwards on the other. Whichever way I build a lashup/MU the flags are always waving the same direction. I'm not saying that's how the big boys did it, but it works for me. I don't get all the gnashing and nitpicking about color schemes. I like to think of it as honoring the past, but looking to the future. The best of both worlds perhaps. Keep up with the tour group people...

Lashup?
LASHUP?
Do you actually tie them together with a rope?
Railroaders refer to that as a CONSIST. You build a CONSIST, not a lashup.

What is the exact HERITAGE of the Wabash SD70ACe?

Thanks, Hot.
I continue to be amazed at how well these classic paint schemes adapt to contemporary power.

Good Day,
I'll take two of each in O Scale. Two road numbers of each color scheme would look fantastic!

Yeah, but Lionel calls it a lashup and they are Lionel trains, not real ones. I thought the official word was MUing them together. Thanks, now I know that some call it a consist. I have a triple lashup/MU/consist of Wabash toy train Geeps. And the flags all wave the same direction when lashed up/ MUed/made into a consist. That's cool whatever you want to call it. Cheers
I call it a MUshup.
