Seems more like a special locomotive painted differently to differentiate it from the rest of the fleet. Progress Rail advertising???
I like it as well, our ninth edition will have some interviews (and maybe even a shop visit) about Progress Rail in Muncie, IN. Progress Rail does amazing rebuild and factory-fresh work, that’s for certain!
1. Looks like the ATSF Yellowbonnets.
2. Yellowsaw will be hard to keep clean.
NS, like the Raiders, look nest in BLACK!
I hope they make one in HO O or even G because i want one
So the big question is how many paint scheme for NS do we have now in this past decade?

there is a nice thread on these going on facebook. only 1800 and 1801 will get the bonnet. I think the standard thoroughbred will look sweet with the isolated style EMD cab.
What manufacturer will be the first to announce the yellow bonnet in O gauge?

Lionel, they just did NS #8520 which is just a C44-9W repaint:

...meaning, nobody will be doing a true model of this since no tooling exists for a modified SD70. There will be "fake" versions based on other toolings. Maybe a SD70ACE, SD70M-2, or SD60E will end up getting this paint scheme.
Hey, no fair on making complaints about NS black, though I do like these recent paint schemes.
I like it.
After thinking about it. It will be MTH.
