Hi,
Was there a paint scheme after 1940 that would have been pulled by the E-7's?
Is the 1940 paint scheme correct for the E-7 locos?
I am referring to the models by Sunset 3rd Rail.
Thanks,
Ed

Depends on which E7s and when. The 1945 "beauty queen" reversed gray E7s essentially matched the 1940 Century cars, but later (1947) ones have the darker postwar 2-tone scheme that matches the 1948 Century cars. 4002 & 4003 were painted black for a while. Eventually, the oddballs were repainted into the standard postwar 2-tone gray passenger scheme.

My question," Did E-7's pull the 1940 cars?
Thanks again,
Ed
Here's a link to info and snaps regarding E7 diesels and what paint scheme the cars wore:

New York Central got 2 pair of E7 A units delivered in March 1945, followed by 4 more A units and 4 B units in October 1945; the 20th Century Limited was reequipped with new rolling stock for the last time in 1948 so you'd find the 1938 cars being pulled by E7 diesels for several years.

You mean you’d find the 40 cars pulled by the E7’s before the 48 scheme. The 38 scheme was replaced in 40. No blue stripe in 40, and some other subtle changes. The big change was in 48.
