As much as I like the lightning stripe paint scheme on New York Central cab units, it's been done to death by all the manufacturers. So, if any of them are listening--HOW ABOUT SOME CIGAR BAND PAINT SCHEMES ON NYC F3s, F7s and FAs!

I have 2 very nice Cigar Band NYC models. They are the Bachmann GP30 and the Lionel GP-7 81513.
I have not seen many F units in Cigar Band paint schemes. I do not think that there is enough demand for NYC engines to make it profitable for the manufacturers to produce more models.
c.sam,
That E8 sure does count. That might be the only scale size cigar band cab unit I've seen.

I still want the lighting stripes. Black freight cab units, GP's, diesel switchers and grey E-8 all in 2/3 rail with fixed pilots. Looking for a whole fleet of NYC steam also, without rubber tires and of course Kadee mounting pads.
Broadway just did a A+A set in HO scale...Cigar band; solid gray with full white wrap-around. They are absolutely devastatio !!!
I'll second the cigar-band movement; honestly, even though the NYC is one of my
two favorite roads, I've always thought that the "lightning stripe" scheme was an
awkward-looking bit of decoration, especially on round-nose EMD's (FM Erie-built and Alco FA/PA shapes fit it better). And, admittedly, my idea of gorgeous NYC power tends to have 79" drivers, 6 or 8 of them.
I'm very fond of the little-known "Century" stripes, which, so far as I know, were applied only to some NYC FT's and F2's (F2's are rare, anyway). Very simple freight scheme; low stripes on the nose, with the oval. Atlas O offered an F2 decorated like this; wish that I had bought one - or that I could find the decals.
The green E8's above I have; love them. There was a NYC green E7B, also.
I was tempted to paint my Sharks in all black scheme.......VERY simple but cool!
