I picked up a older MTH PS1 NYC Dreyfuss recently. My grandson loves this engine ever since he watched it on some of the I Love Toy Train dvds. I want to get some passenger cars to go with it. I'm most concerned with the height of the cars matching the tender height. I see a ton of cars on eBay. Was there a MTH set that went with this engine? I also see quite a bit of Williams. There is some nice Lionel also, but they look to be aluminum and expensive. Plastic would be fine as long as the size is good. I'm only looking to have three/four cars due to my small loop. Recommendations please. Thanks/KC

K/C.....MTH did make sets to go with this locomotive. If you go to the MTH website and click on the product locator then type in Dreyfuss in the blank, it will come up with all of the pieces that were made. I have the later PS-2 version and 10 of the passenger cars so you should be able to find them....

MTH has made a number of sets over the years. I think the earliest ones had silhouettes, then interiors but no figures, and finally full interiors with figures. If your engine is a Premiere the scale cars would go well with it. If color match is important, a set made about the same time as your engine might be the one to look for.

K/C I was going to purchase a 5 car set on e-bay , but a fellow forum member emailed me and said he had a set new in box, so I bought them from him. But I have the guys name on e-bay who was selling them, they also were new in box. Here's a few pictures of what they look like. His e-bay name is (buzchoochoo). I hope this helps. The item number of this set is 20-6554

The engine was offered in the compressed RailKing Line AND the full scale Premier Line. Make sure that the cars match the "scale" of the engine.
sir-you did not mention if the dreyfuss was railking or premier
If the engine is a PS1, it must be a Railking. The first Premier (scale) Dreyfuss Hudson from 2000 was a PS2.

You Guys are all right, she never specified if it was Rail King or Premier. I just assumed it was premier, the car's in my photo's will match a scale engine.
