I stopped by the NYO&W Museum in Roscoe, NY last Friday. Since the Long Island Rail Road had some of thew NYO&W cabooses, I wanted detail pictures of the caboose on display. It's sad to say how much deterioration is taking place in the caboose, and especially in the New York Central MU car.
The trucks under the caboose are Delaware, Lackawanna & Western units.

As far as I know the caboose is Roscoe is an Erie caboose (painted O&W). THE NYO&W never had a steel caboose.
Monticello Depot is in better shape. A lumber company took over the station site and is cognizant of its heritage. They keep it up nicely. You can see the parallel station tracks coming through the asphalt.

Nice photos Peter, but, I have one small correction, VEO is an Oil company (Van Etten Oil). I have been inside the building and I did have some pictures. I don't know if I can find them.

It helps to live in the neighborhood.
My sister is a Podiatrist in Monticello and I try to see the sites when I visit.
I hope to do the O&W's Middletown self tour some day.
