NYS&W/Susie-Q Heritage Diesel

The NY, Susquehann & Western RR announced today that as part of an overall diesel replacement, upgrade and retirement program...one of the newly rebuilt EMD SD-60 diesels will be delivered this summer and painted in the historic 1940's ALCO RS-1 Maroon and Silver paint scheme. The remaining SD-6-s will be in the Yellow/Black 'bumble-bee' paint scheme.

looks pretty handsome. the original was a rather dark silver more like a pewter. the RDC was a bright silver in the lettering, ( I know because I painted it) but the base for the locos was darker. ai wonder how a brilliant silver would look on such a large loco.

noticing how long ago this was posted: any news? did it happen?
