I see that the prewar O-72 switch tracks have track pins on the center rails as they near the frog. Most of the pictures i have seen, the pin is bent.
Is the bent pin supposed to be so.
What about modern locos rolling over this portion of the switch ? Are there any issues with center rail rollers getting fouled in this area ?
Some of the O-72 switches have molded plastic rails in this area. What are the pros and cons of prewar and postwar designs ?
