The Independent Hi-Railers, MidWest Division are planning to have out modular layout setup for display & operation at this National Train Show. We should be setup by late Thursday evening (July 17) and be running trains for the whole three days. I personally plan on bringing my K-Line 21" Empire State Express passenger train, powered by either an MTH ESE streamlined Hudson, or a Sunset/3rd Rail Niagara, or a Sunset/3rd Rail Mohawk.

well, what will it be???  people will probably decide to attend or not depending on your choice.

To be more clear, I'm taking all three locomotives, in order to rotate motive power. Plus, by taking along an NYC caboose, I'll be able to handle freight as well with either the Niagara or the Mohawk.

My home layout will be on one of the scheduled tours during the convention. Sadly, it appears it will be the only O scale layout open. The tour featuring Conrail John's terrific must see layout seems to have been cancelled. Originally built for 2 rail, my around the walls (24'x 36') basement empire began a major redesign following the removal of a pool table last fall. I added a 3 rail parallel main line to accommodate all the equipment I have collected and intended to convert to 2 rail someday. The "somedays" were getting few and far between. THEN, I bought a Lionel Legacy W&LE 2-6-6-2 on a whim, and that changed everything! The day after the convention the layout will begin the conversion to 3 rail exclusively. Any forumites who would like to visit during the convention, drop me an email, I would be happy to meet you and share my trains with you.
