The only issue I have is he does not do the repairs on site. I didn't want to wait 2 weeks to get an estimate. I guess the train hobby is a dying art when you can only find one guy in a 3 state area that does this kind of work. I went to a stamp collection show and there were 6 vendors and no one under 80 was there loking at stamps. So Sad.

In most cases, it can be tough to find guys who do post war service and repairs. There are quite a few on this forum who can do it for you if you don't mind shipping them out. But if you are in Milwaukee you could go down to Chicago. There are some good places in that area to get post war service. Service work can be anywhere from reasonable to way too high depending on who does it. Be sure to ask up front about rates.

If you are game to try it yourself this may help-

Yes I do. I live in Sturtevant, Wisconsin.  Items can be droped off at my house, droped off at the Swap meet in Racine at Roma Lodge in the fall.  I use to work at Gary's Hobby Center in Racine Wisconsin for almost 20 years.  My father purchased the remaining Lionel parts from Casanova's in the mid 80's.  My email is in my profile
