The other night I was looking on the internet at Tinplate as I sometimes do, and I found a 2800 series o-gauge search light car that I liked but could not figure out why it was so high. So, I went to the MTH Website and found out why? It had a retail of $119.99, which was Std gauge pricing I thought. Well, it looks like I will be buying more items used rather than new.

Excuse Me, Please? I kinda hate bringing it up. Please tell where are you buying Std Gauge so cheap? How much is a new 200/500 series floodlight car going for these days?
The price of tinplate has gone up. I've been buying most of mine used for years, even the new (ish) MTH repros. You should be able to find good deals on LNIB products, especially if they are a few years old.

I try to get most of my Tinplate from Perry's Toy Exchange or Side track hobbies. They seem to have the best prices.

Pat's Trains also has decent prices. But, I would think an operating tinplate O or Standard is going to be over $100 new.

TL160 is correct and when Western Depot has it's Tin Plate sale you can usually pick this kind of Tin Plate rolling stock up, between $89.00 and $100.00 a car, sometimes even less depending on their inventory at the time.
