O Scale ABWX 20001 well hole flatcar with transformer load.
Here is a very unusual well hole flatcar designed to transport large transformers. The load is mounted in the well and is supported by side rails unlike the usual depressed center cars. According to available data it was built in 1967.
Coupled length of the 12-axle scale model is 26-1/2 inches. Four pair of 3 axle trucks are used. The articulated truck bolsters allow the model to easily operate through small radius tracks. Other details to be added. Model photos attached. A transformer "load" for this car is also shown.
This car was originally built for Canadian General Electric under CGEX reporting marks and were later owned by Transelectrix Technology under TETX reporting marks.
