I'm all signed up with a friend to come west to the O Scale 2-Rail Convention in June.  The layouts sound fabulous and am looking forward to seeing them on the Sunday tour after the convention show and activities on Friday and Saturday.  I've sent an e-mail to the convention contacts, but will also ask it here as well.

One thing we noticed when we were making all the reservations and ticketing is the cost of rental cars these days is crazy - to the tune of $300 (throw in tolls and fuel with gas prices it could climb to $400 easily) for something the size of a Yugo!   This is O Scale 2-Rail train money!!!  A Yugo wouldn't hold our O Scale purchases and be able to fly out of Denver mid-evening on Sunday night!

How are some of you getting around on the tour(s) and if you haven't made your options yet do you think a charter bus type of arrangement may work, much like the post week long Colorado tourist railroad adventure?  The key concern with this scenario is wanting to spend a good amount of time to soak it all in and have the time to look around and ask the owner questions etc.

I am signed up for the convention also.  I am hoping to rent a car for a day to see the layouts and share the cost with other attendees.  I'll see if anyone wants to share a rental when I get there.  I am definitely not paying $400 to rent a car for a day.

Uber could be expensive.  I understand that one layout that I want to see is about 70 miles from Denver.  NH Joe

Hey Guys,

My son has a 4 year old that is suddenly fascinated with toy trains.   He lives just north of Denver.

Is it possible he could buy tickets to go through the show for one day, at a price less than an arm and a leg??  They would probably only be there for two hours.

Thx,

Mannyrock

Mannyrock,

There is a general public day Saturday June 19 at 900 am doors open to the public!

We will have a Saturday only ticket for families for $20. Admission good for sales room and layouts in the Hyatt.

No MWB, you gotta go!

Unless you're going to swing by the castle, break me out of my cage, and give me a ride and place to stay, not happening.  Someone else, supposedly, will be representing..........

Without you it’s a bust!

Don't put that on me.  I've been to Nat'l conventions that were a busts...........and I had nothing to do with it!

Too bad I can't be there. I hope that anyone that is attending takes lots of pictures and some video of the layout on the tour.

Dave

I will see what I can do for documentation at the show.

Not sure I can do all the tour layouts since I've already worked countless hours on the High Plains Route. As far as Kevin Bacons clan those guys are I'm sure more than capable of shooting some images and videos better than I can. Lots of Uber talented people there far beyond my capabilities.
