During the Nurnberg Toy Fair the award for best model train were awarded in all different scale. (Eisenbahn Magazin)

In O scale (2 rails, but some models are available in 3 rails) not surprisingly the 1st place was awarded to the amazing Lenz model of the V160...a real beauty

What is very encouraging is that MTH came on place 4th with their German steamer S3/6 (BR18)...even ahead of longtime Fulgurex (small high end Swiss brass importer) of their SNCF Serie 141.

Even not being 1st, it's for sure a great outcome for MTH first ever German steamer and for their Euro line...so can only hope to see much more Euro steamer or other, based on this awesome success.

Congratulations to Mike and everyone at MTH...for having the guts to do it and not sticking at producing "another Hudson"

When MTH announced their first European locomotives, my thought was that it was a bold move. The European model railroaders seem to count rivets more than we do. Good to see MTH holding its own against the other manufacturers. Hopefully, the techniques used in the manufacturing of the European models and the H.O. line will be applied to the North American models. Can you say scale-length passenger cars with correct window patterns and road-specific car sets?

I'm very happy that MTH is finding a place in the European market. Mike took a big chance making such a bold move and I think his companies success is a very good thing for our friends over there and obviously for MTH as well.

But, it is also a very good thing for us because we now have a broader selection of product for our own use. Let's face it some of those European engines and passenger coaches are really a beautiful thing to behold.

Of course, I can't say the same thing about those four wheel "bobbers" they call freight cars, or those hook and chains they latch their cars together with, but give them time

It is true that there is a steam shortage in the MTH catalog and that may continue for a publication or two but I have all the confidence that MTH will be back on track with their USA line in a big way before we know it.

Congratulations Mike and good luck.

I have all the European MTH offerings to date, and the Bavarian is a beautiful model, and with PS3, sounds sensational. MTH are doing a great job of broadening O gauge appeal worldwide. Who knows, maybe one day they will release an Australian steamer.

If your are listening Mike, an AD60 class Beyer Garrett would have international appeal.
