Dimestore Dreams
This week’s subject is a little different than the usual discussion of accurate scale models.
For you postwar & MPC traditional operators, these models are from Dimestore Dreams and American Dimestore. They are 1/43 scale and look great with Plasticville buildings and postwar style and Marx layouts. Dimestore Dreams were available from toy and hobby retailers about 2000 and American Dimestore were only available direct in 2005. Both usually can be found on e-bay and at train shows
These are some of the original Dimestore Dreams toys. They look like they could have come from a Woolworth store in the 1950s
These are some of the American Dimestore toys. A few had all new tooling the rest used the bodes from Dimestore Dreams with new fenders and hoods.

The most noticeable difference is the longer hood and fender skirts on the Dimestore Dreams car.
