You had to go and tell me about this, didn’t you? I’m sure it will be spendy, but I have been waiting for such a model for decades.
I interviewed Bruce Sellner of Sellner Manufacturing in Faribault MN for a story in the late 1980s, when Sellner was proposing a space ride for the Mall of America (still in its earliest planning stages back then). Sellner Manufacturing, of course, created the Tilt-A-Whirl in 1926, so I became intrigued by this piece of local history.
The space ride never made it to the mall’s centerpiece amusement park, but the Tilt-A-Whirl lived on. I still look for old Sellner building plates on the rides when I see them at fair and carnival midways, even though the Sellner family sold the business in 2011 to Larson International.
