For folks interested in this meet there is some info to share.  It will be coming this February as usual but there will be less paper information this year due to the loss of the free printing services.  There are several loyal attendees and exhibitors who do not even have an Internet connection so the folks organizing the event are trying to reach out to them to keep them up to date.

Moving forward.  There will not be a February 2016 meet.  The 2016 Super Bowl will be happening about a quarter mile away from the current meet location the weekend usually booked for the meet and hotel and convention center space for 50 miles in any direction is either just unavailable or crazy stupid expensive.  So O Scale West will be held the first weekend in May 2016 at it's current location.  For years beyond whether or not it will return to February or remain in May or... is unknown.

Thanks for the info.

O Scale West is a truly outstanding show.  There are many reasons but the main one for me is the large number of outstanding O Scale layouts.  And our S scale cousins are there too.

Unless I'm mistaken O Scale West has the largest number of O Scale layouts on the tour of any show.

Anyone who regularly travels to shows and hasn't attended O Scale West should at least try it once.  Even if you live on the East Coast.

Oh, and the Bay area is a very cool place to hang out.

It's February 5th - 7th 2015 at the Hyatt Regency in Santa Clara which as expected  has special rates for attendees. It's been held there for a long time.

The website presently has the top level info -- and info on last year's event. The specifics will start showing up soon.  Don't let the no-nonsense, lack of graphics, OSW website fool you. The gents running the show are real pro's.  The show and layout tours are outstanding and well organized.

Get a good rent car with a GPS for the layout tours. You're gonna spend a lot of time running up and down the 101 and other major arteries.   Request the layout package in advance which will help you choose which layouts to go see.  I think it would be next to impossible or at least unrealistic to try and see them all.

The weather is -- usually -- very moderate.  Many times sunshine and short sleeves.   Other times rain and a light jacket.   Nothing like taking a chance on sub freezing weather -- like at the 2014 March Meet in Chicago.

No, I am not affiliated with O Scale West
