restarting my layout after about 5 years away, and the forum has been very helpful.  Thanks all

i have a bunch of o22 and 5132/3 switches and would like to do two things, replace the existing controllers with a spdt switch, but also run the wires under the table to the inside the switch housing so they are100%  invisible.   The spdt switch part is easy but I am a little leary of messing with the internal wiring.  I clearly need to solder wire within the switch - does anyone have any tips, diagrams, videos that would help?  Any all advice welcome.

thanks again

For the switches, you'll want SPDT center-off spring loaded switches.

You can run the wire inside the switch right past the cover on O22 or 5132/3 switches and just connect to the existing connections inside the cover.  You don't really need the ground wire, just ground all the SPDT switches at the panel to the common ground.  You'll just have to connect to the outside terminals.

For really invisible wire, you can also drill a hole in the base of the switch motor, but that seems a bit extreme.

Since the terminals are still going to stick out, is totally hiding the wire really that necessary?  You're making it a lot harder to remove a switch if you have to do some maintenance on it.
