YW, I haven't bought one in years, since you did this thread you gave me a bug, have to look at ebay and trainz.com. Later Mark
@coach joe posted:I notice David's Nickel Plate pups have a squarer nose and tandem axles. I wonder how many of the Lionel TOFCs came that way?
As a rough guideline, Lionel’s pup trailers are: tandem axle, square nose on trailer; single axle, rounded nose on trailer. The trailers and flatcars are not interchangeable, because of the relative position of the chocks on the different trailers, to accommodate the different axle configurations.
Tandem axle vans - Wabash, Western Maryland, NKP, Katy, Frisco, NY Central Flatcar w/ Gleason/Sasib vans. There may be others I’m unaware of.

Thanks for sharing that a nice collection there’s still a few in your pics I need to get.
Thank you for this topic. I'm new in this but trailers on flatcars are some of my favorites. I had already bought Lionel 6-26951 that is a T.T.X. flatcar carrying PRR trailer# 15104. Then I bought MTH 30-7626 that is a PRR flatcar and was surprised to see that the PRR trailer on it has the same # 15104. I guess they modeled the same prototype, even though the logos on the trailers are in different locations.
To show all my trailer on flatcars I made a video like David Nissen did.

Thanks John very nice Piggybacks
Another Piggyback a Lionel Lines was in the tunnel, I found carboard boxes in the tunnel think it was robbed.
Totally forgot I had this until reading these posts jogged my memory.
Lionel made these flats with a variety of road names a few years back. This one sports the classic orange and blue.
After running these piggyback cars for the first time I have discovered that the trailers don't stay on the flat cars to well. I have been experimenting with making wheel chocks that will better hold the trailers to the flat cars. These are 3D printed and mount to the slots on the flat car the same as the original wheel chocks.
With the Lionel trailers, I just squeeze the tires together and the friction usually keeps the trailers in place.

I added a little hot glue to keep mine in place, you can always take it off if wanted.

David that is a great idea did it improve the ride?
As long as we're doing this it's probably worth including a picture of the guys who got this whole thing started - the Cooper-Jarrett van cars in gray and white.
for whatever reason the white in the picture is not the bright white of the actual vans.
Do not forget the 3460

Yes Robert thanks for sharing. I always like the Orange and silver placard ones the best. I have plans to make a Cooper Jarrett but not like these
Good call Robert - Always loved the original 6430/6440/3460 series of car
Also this guy

Thanks for sharing Robert. I’m glad Lionel didn’t car on with the slit’s in the sides of there trailers for the placards
lee drennen: The new wheel chocks held the trailers better but the front end of the trailers would still slide from side to side.
I then made a chock for the front also and it was a lot better. I then discovered that with the front tied down the original chocks worked OK.
The front chock attaches with a 6-32 x 3/8 in screw and nut through an existing hole in the flat car.
I have attached an (.stl) file that can be 3D printed if anyone else would like to try it out.
