I just recieved the engine.  Opened up the tender and there was no battery.  3 volt board.  so im getting the battery.  I hope that is the only issue.  but if it wont start,  are the 3 volt boards worth sending out for repair?   I would guess that it needs diagnosed of course.  I will let you all know when I get a battery and test this thing out.  this was a steam Kit since it was a PS-1 originally.

It should fire up in conventional mode with  sounds, however the battery is required to leave neutral.. unlike proto-1 proto2  engines   aren't messed up with  no battery or weak battery.

It should also add to the remote  and run in command mode, however you won't be able to change any setting and have them stick.

Yes, the PS2 3 volt boards can be repaired to a certain degree. GGG has fixed a couple of mine.

We don't know who did the upgrade or why the battery is not there. So it might be better to have the whole engine checked out for shorts or problems. You could check yourself if you know what to look for. Hopefully the tether is wired up correctly. Still I would not expect it to match other models.

You are sure this is not PS3, correct?

Does it have a BCR installed?

I'm not sure how much you know about MTH boards? You may know more than I do but I'll ask you.
