Hello Tinplaters ...York is all about seeing old friends and making new ones ...oh yes lots of trains to see also...Friday morning one gets up early and races to the food hall to attend the SGMA ( standard gauge modular association) meeting ....fun gathering to see Standard Gauge that is anything but ....."Standard" ....also the makers, builders , artists behind many of the trains on display.
Norman Beaver brought his line up of creations ... ..the Ubanks diesel has come alive , his stunning B&O President Washington ...expanding an Ives 1134 into what it could have been ...Jim Waterman with his ever expanding line of exciting standard gauge pieces ...that are available in very limited production ...so don't wait ...his Aero train was amazing , the new ex Harmon, ex Roberts Lines ...now his new and improved streamline Pullmans will drop jaws on any layout ...oh yes Jim is coming out with a GG1 ..a full 2" longer than Bob Hendrich's ! Dave Wallace was displaying some his fine collection of one of a kind pieces ...a reunion of the Jack Schaaf Atlantic and Pacific from the 1930's ...was a treat ...Dunseith's Northern ...created from an expanded Randall Hudson casting made a rare appearance, Brad Kaplan displayed the 180 prototype knobby Pullman ...Danny Tomelison had a wonderful display of Karl Rammling pieces ... love that "Tube train" ....please plan on attending next York ... great opportunity to see some wonderful trains and meet the folks , artists to learn the "rest " of the story ...
