With just a few OEM's left ( Kader and Lionel) and the rest of the manufacturers either closed (ceased business or bankruptcy), what are the prospects for spare and repair parts? The K-Line specific inventory is thinning out, the MTH inventory is getting smaller each day, Williams really doesn't have a presence in spares. Lionel has a robust spares inventory, but that even appears to be somewhat reduced (Covid impact I suppose).
What does the future look like? Electronics is probably okay as there are third party vendors....bulbs, screws, washers, bushings and springs should be okay........but for motors, trucks, couplers, tires and detail parts...
In the automotive world there are generally cross references and interchanges....but not in O gauge....and it's obvious why...But moving forward where should we go?
I would propose that our Forum Sponsor create a section or category for service parts suppliers...a contact list or a place where a listing may be stored or linked or whatever.
