I would have to check with my insurance man, but I'm pretty sure my home owner's policy also covered things not in the home. Like stolen from your car or wallet or wife's purse, etc. Probably has a dollar limit, but it's been so long (probably 35-40 years) since he told me that, it could have all changed and I am not real good at keeping up with that sort of thing.

I use an Insurance policy from American Collectors Insurance and it covers my trains from the moment of purchase (if online) and includes shipping to me and full coverage if I take them to the club, display off sight or a friends house... No deductable and full replacement cost (not retail value).

You can purchase online or I purchased through my insurance agent. If you need n ACI agent, please let me know.

Thanks,
-Mario

I 2nd this.  ACI has a very comprehensive policy.  I have trains in the club, at home and in a storage unit and they are all covered.  You get an additional discount if you have a Geico policy.  ACI is affiliated with Geico.
