....... Bill Davis had 32 tables full of brass
No. Unless you are counting about 1/2 his tables that were filled trays of detail parts, the tables full of decals, and the several tables of the 37 AAR cars he was taking reservations on, and then tables that were piled with Atlas, etc., and then tables full of wood kit cars....
and was selling at reasonable prices...............
Yes. I was sorely tempted by a number of the brass tank cars (IMP, USH, ect.) that were on one table and the 5 trolleys that occupied another table.
....a bit light on premium brass models...
Yes, and while there was the usual smattering of such characters, none were close to anything interesting - collectors may have been entertained,
Self control can be a wonderful thing some times.
I had a great time and found some much needed detail parts for finishing another project.
Yes, there were some good buys, and some cars and 1 engine that I would not have hesitated on 3-4 years ago, but I've reached the point wherein more is just more in the way or under foot. Still, that self control slipped and I succumbed to another vagabond USH tank car.....that I will reward by taking a torch to and modifying a bit.
Detail parts -- yes, yes and YES! Found just about everything I was looking for (think of stuff like Kemtron anti-climbers, handfuls of Grandt Line parts, etc, ) except figures.
