Would a map that shows were members live be something of interest to this group? I own a Corvette and participate in the Corvette Forum,the C7 Section to be specific. We have an owner's map that serves it's purpose. We have a rather large group with strong participation. I wonder if this is something that would be of interest to our Forum.

There is a map that tells how many members are around the world and where.
Im neutral on the idea. To me if they enter a location it's ok but it can't use any location data that they didn't have in the public profile. After all if they choose to have it in there public profile the map offers doesn't give any addition info.

BTW Your map idea.....So many members are worried about their privacy. You might meet some resistance due to the ever increasing number of thefts, also. Maybe the Moderators will chime in with their ideas and or recommendations.
But all the trolls here will know where we live. And since we post our collections and other photos here, it's like a travel guide for thieves.
As I said. No location in your profile, no map location. Issue solved. Map can't be seen unless a member. I doubt we are taking street level anyways.
Actually the map function only indicates the number of members in a particular State. More detailed location information is only available in a members profile in so far as the individual has chosen to share. Member profiles are only available to members who are logged on.
I don't think any better way a side from disallowing the sharing of any personal info, it seems like a good system that leaves the control of how much information is available to the individual member.
