OH NOOOO ! The New Lionel Passenger cars are going to Thumb Tack style couplers too?

   Tack removal shouldn't harm the knuckle pin or require a rubber band, or take long. But it does disable the "operational" aspect, and especially missed with remote operation. At least traditional ones were thin.

  The round head was pretty much grade friendly too. These are not. Grade is another reason I cut my fat tacks off; they bottom out on the 3rd rail.. The only thing that ever bottomed out.

  Other than that, I liked them. Redesign the tack head and or stem, and or move the stem back a bit?

The coupler systems on my bluebird expand when they go around a curve and contract when they come back the only problem I have is the gap between my E7 or PA units being too far.

I know they have Kadee adapters that come with all the cars but you start restricting your curves to 072

IMO, the whole uncoupling contraption detracts from what is otherwise a beautiful model.
