Hello all;

Starting to go over my layout and redo areas. I currently have a Lionel 455 Derrick and round oil tank. While it is a nice model, its not exactly 'scale' with the tall metal footing.

I like the walthers "horse head" pump, but it seems like that are hard to come by. How is the newer Lionel model (6-82016)

Any other suggestions?

How about oil tanks? I have two of the Lionel industrial tanks with connection steps/walkways. Korber tanks?

Thanks for any insight.

I have both the Walthers and the Lionel pumps and like both. The Walthers is out there but hard to come by since Walthers does not make it anymore. Atlas O now owns the O scale molds. Hopefully they will start making it.

With respect to tanks and tank farms you can purchase pre-assembled floating top tanks from both Lionel and MTH. In addition both Alan Graziano and I assemble custom designs. Alan's designs are numerous and posted all over this forum. Some of my work is shown below.

Our scene is not complete yet on the layout restoration project that I am working on. We are adding a fence like Pete's scene, came up with some worker s in hardhats and gonna use a flatbed truck delivering a spare pump motor that came from a Lionel flat car.

I'll grab a photo and add it Saturday. I didn't want to use tanks because it would cause a vision block to the layout. it's on the 3rd level in the lower right of the photo attached. You can see the rectangle where it sits.

I like the bubble light.

C'MON MAN!  Plastruct.com, catalog, Volume 10, pages 20-38. Kits at the end.

I've seen those...

Does anyone have a built up one? Or should I buy it and take pictures?

Ahhh, roger that!

Well, our forum friend from Brazil just posted a layout update with a new donkey pump and a tank. The floating lid tank would be appropriate. I am still going to keep it simple for the museum display right now. Our dedication and opening day are coming up too fast.
