This is a heavily populated area and the site is near the Plainfield business district. Fortunately the situation, judging from this report, appears to be being well managed, precluding a Megantic-like disaster.

Its fairly close to the DuPage River, so they need to contain the spill pronto.
This is a CN train on the former EJ&E, and a lot of munis were against the acquisition, so I am waiting for the NIMBY chorus to start with the "I told you sos".
Well at least it did not blow up.I have seen what they can do when these trains blow up.A town near to me had a train derail.The blast and fire took out a fair size part of the town.So they should count them self very blessed.
Thank goodness the weather is dry and clear, should help cleanup efforts . They are predicting rain for Monday though. The Chicago area has numerous places they can send reclaimed oil close by and lots of transport equipment available.
