Just picked up this engine and as I like to to do, popped the shell before I ran it. I found one detached black wire.
One end goes to a ground, where does the other end need to be soldered to? Thanks!

I think it goes on the lug on the brush plate under the capacitor closest to the camera.
If that lug has no wire connected to it as the picture suggests, that confirms my thoughts.

Hmmm... You gave me someplace to start looking!! Neither lug has a wire on it. However, the solder on the opposite lug has a rough spot where it appears the wire could have come from.
I'll see if anyone else chimes in before I break out the soldering gun! TY!
Interesting, both capacitors have a lug? Here is the wiring diagram I pulled from another thread discussing coupler wiring (so ignore the red markup)
