I took this photo at Strasburg RR at the end of September.
What could be better, trains and cars?
Not sure if I like the color or B&W better.

The B&W feels like you're looking back in time, the color one feels like you're there. Neither are wrong, just offer different perspectives, nice picture either way.
Went to the ACCA car show in Hershey, then up to see the "611"......It don't get any better......
@Jdevleerjr or anyone... what is the grey car in your photo? Is it a Ford Model A, or ?? Beautiful, thanks for posting, and I agree a great combo! I wish the Hershey car show and York were the same weekend, then I would ALWAYS visit Penna in October!!

Great pics! Thanks for posting.
611 was built in 1950.

What does the build date of N&W 611 have to do with anything related to those beautiful cars?
I would recon there is a correlation of the dates in respect to which was around first, the car or the loco. Just a guess'.. on my part'.. My dad's first car was a 1929, Model A Deluxe Roadster. 1937, he was 18.
Beautiful roadster and a really nice picture. I have an affinity for 29 Model A roadsters. Made sure my son knew how to drive a manual transmission in the 29 roadster. It’s now his favorite car to drive. He drives Santa in it every year in the town’s 4th of July parade.

Not that the cars aren't beautiful, or that any photos have yet been posted featuring both the J and the Model A, or that 1920s vehicles didn't exist when the J was built in 1950--but the posing of 1920s vehicles with the 1950 J is just a bit incongruous.
A better photo pairing would be the J with a late 1940s/early 1950s vehicle.
I agree with this subject! Have a '29 Huckster l need out of my garage, as I am a Chevy man with an affinity for the many medium price "orphans" of '20's-'30's, and '32-'40 Chevy's. Have a sllight? interest in trains, too. Good luck above on restoring the Nash.
Perhaps this is a better match. This one would have already been 10 years old when the J was built. It would have looked the same in 1950, since in 2019 it still has the original paint and upholstery.
Still searching for a good scale model of the 40 Mercury in black for my layout. I found a good match for the 29 Ford.
The Illinois Railway Museum hosts a day every year where vintage car owners can display their cars around the museum: https://www.irm.org/event/vint...za/edate/2019-08-04/
I haven't taken my old Thunderbird there yet. The day always coincides with the weekend of Lollapalooza, which I've been going to for the past 11 years. So if IRM moves the date I might attend.

Ok Steve, done. My '55 Cameo, now looking for a J to go with it. Offers?

I agree but I didn't get to pick what car Strasburg put out in front of the J.
How about a '64 Impala in front of the Mt Clemens Depot.
1955 Ford F100
No fair Y'all. I'm in Indiana without a picture of my 1914 Model T, 1934 Ford, 1947 Ford or 1950 Mercury.
The '40 Merc is beautiful. A fine looking 80 year old lady. They are only original once.
What do they say? If it has wheels or a motor, you're gonna have problems.
Cars, trains, motorcycles, they all go together.

My street rod, in front of the Great Overland Station in Topeka, KS.
Is there any better combo than old cars and trains?
No, not really.
