We might of sold you that set of diesels. We sold a ton of MTH trains. Thank you for your business.
Wow, Jim… open most nights till 10:00 PM!!! Most stores I knew growing up in NYC were only open till 6:00 and now that I’m in NE Pennsylvania, 4:00 or 5:00 is the norm!!!
Miss talking to you on the phone when I placed an order to help you keep the lights on.

Well you certainly did more than your part to continue/perpetuate the hobby. Like apple65 said open till 10pm was unheard of.
Did you do a substantial business Mon-Thur between 8pm '10pm?
aussteve, Probably not. But I was Gun Ho, I was 36 years old and I had the drive and determination and a great wife to make it work.
Lionlman, You can still call me anytime you want. I would be happy to talk to you. My phone number is 724-549-2672.
I purchased quite a few MTH Premier Jersey Central RR items from Jimmy and was very satisfied. Always glad to hear from Jimmy in Homer City, PA.
Jimmy...keep on posting to the OGR Forum.
Best regards.
Walter
Best thi g about that shop was when you called to order one thing, you always ended up buying two or three once the call was done! Jimmy always had plenty of everything.

That's nothing. Jim would see me comment on something or asking about a product on OGR, around midnight and would promptly call me up to help out. Jim was truly the only 24/7 model train shop. Boy do I miss those days.
Back in my employment days, my Company did a lot of work at the Homer City Generating Stations up the hill and down the road. I always made sure to work on those jobs and every site visit I made we had to drive right by Jim's Shop.
I was usually the "senior" guy on the trip and made the decision to always stop on the way back home (a 5-hour trip). My co-workers were never happy with the additional 30 -45 minutes I would spend in the store buying a thing or two walking around the "back room" and just talking to Jim. I would appease them with a good dinner before getting on the Turnpike.
The best trips I made by myself and usually spent as much time in the shop as I did at the Power Plant!
Good memories. Jim was and still is one of the "good guys" in our hobby.

Jim, I never made it to your store but remember your website with all the deals on MTH and I made a few purchases and never any problems, Thanks.
I do remember a time when everyone was going to meet in your parking lot for a tailgate pre-York (?). I don't think it ever happened because it would have doubled the population of Homer City!
Jim I made it to your store once but did purchase several items on line form you and was very pleased with the service. Now that I live closer sure wish you still had the store miss having a LHS to meet and greet like minded folks and spend some of my money in person instead of online.
If you read the fine print it says. I need to keep the lights on
I bought a coupla trains from Jim, back in the day.
Thank you everyone for your kind words. They made me fill very good this morning. They are appreciated.
I remember my first trip to the shop. I went there looking for one freight car that was unfortunately sold out, and I came home with a trunk full of other stuff I never knew I wanted.
I enjoyed each and every visit to the shop. Thanks for the memories, Jim!
Andy
Andy, thank you for being a customer and friend. I appreciate your kind words.
Jim, I can’t say enough about your legacy. Had I lived near your shop, especially in the 1990s, I would have been a regular. I probably would have helped you lock up the store some nights.
Jim R. , I would of been glad to have you. We had three repair men that came on Friday nights. They would repair trains until after midnight. Then we all went to Deans Diner in Blairsville for something to eat. There was another fellow that came up from Bedford, PA. on Friday nights. He just loved helping in the store. He would ride along with Ronnie and Joey. Ronnie was from Claysburg and Joey was from Munster. It was a fun time.
